Hey Food Truck Crew,

We’re looking forward to having you join us this Saturday for The New Jersey Punk Rock Flea Market: Summa’ Sizzla’ 2026 at the New Jersey Convention & Exposition Center in Edison.

Whether you’ve been with us for years or this is your first time rolling in, please take a few minutes to read through everything below. These requirements help us keep load-in organized, complete inspections on schedule, and get everyone open and serving on time.

We’ve also included promotional graphics you can use to let your customers know where you’ll be this Saturday.

EVENT LOCATION

New Jersey Convention & Exposition Center
97 Sunfield Avenue
Edison, NJ 08837

ARRIVAL & LOAD-IN

Arrival Time: 7:30 AM

Health and fire inspections are expected to begin around 8:30 AM, and every truck must be inspected and fully prepared to open by 10:00 AM.

All food trucks must be on-site no later than 8:15 AM. Trucks arriving after the cutoff may not be permitted to participate if inspections have concluded or event operations have begun.

When you arrive, please wait for an NJPRFM staff member to direct you.

Do not park or place your truck yourself. Our staff will escort each truck or trailer into its assigned location. Placement is determined by truck dimensions, service-window orientation, generator location, customer flow, emergency access, and fire-safety requirements.

You may not relocate, turn, or reposition your truck after placement without approval from NJPRFM staff.

HEALTH & FIRE INSPECTIONS

Every food vendor is responsible for complying with all applicable State of New Jersey and Township of Edison health and fire requirements before arriving.

Please note that we have secured all of your permits in advance.

Please verify that you have:

  • A functioning handwashing sink with hot and cold running water

  • Proper refrigeration and hot-holding equipment

  • Food and equipment thermometers

  • Approved sanitizer and test strips

  • Proper food-storage containers and coverings

  • Adequate potable water and wastewater storage

  • Required fire extinguishers and fire-suppression equipment

  • Properly secured propane tanks, hoses, regulators, and connections

  • All required licenses, certifications, and equipment documentation

  • Enough staff to operate safely and efficiently

Anyone handling money should not immediately handle exposed food without first washing their hands and changing gloves or otherwise following approved food-safety procedures.

If you do not pass your health or fire inspection, you will not be permitted to operate. Vendor fees are non-refundable if you are unable to open because of failed inspections, missing equipment, incomplete documentation, or noncompliance with applicable regulations.

FIRE-PERMIT DOCUMENTATION

Food trucks and trailers requiring a fire permit must be prepared to present copies of the same current documents submitted to NJPRFM in advance.

Please have the following available for the fire inspector:

  • Valid Fire Suppression System Test Report

  • Kitchen Hood Cleaning Report

  • Fuel Gas System Inspection

  • Proof of current ABC fire-extinguisher inspection

  • Proof of current Class K fire-extinguisher inspection

Digital copies should be accessible on-site, but printed copies are strongly recommended in case of poor cellular service, dead batteries, or other technical issues.

Submitting these documents to NJPRFM in advance does not replace your responsibility to have them available during the on-site inspection. Missing, expired, incomplete, or inaccessible documentation may result in a failed inspection and the vendor being unable to operate. Vendor fees are non-refundable in that situation.

Helpful references:

PERMITS

NJPRFM has obtained all event-specific permits on your behalf. This is included in your vending fee.

Please bring copies of any licenses, certifications, fire-system inspection records, insurance documents, or other paperwork specific to your individual operation.

POWER & GENERATORS

Electrical power is not provided to food trucks.

If your operation requires electricity, you must supply your own generator. Quiet or inverter-style generators are strongly preferred.

Generators must:

  • Remain inside your assigned operating area

  • Be positioned away from customer lines

  • Be properly ventilated

  • Be protected from public contact

  • Have adequate fuel for the entire event

  • Comply with all fire-inspection requirements

Extension cords may not cross customer walkways, vehicle lanes, emergency routes, or other public areas. Do not refuel a running or hot generator.

TRAILERS & TOW VEHICLES

If your food trailer is pulled by a separate vehicle, you must disconnect it after our staff places the trailer.

Bring the appropriate trailer jack, support foot, wheel chocks, leveling equipment, and any other equipment required to secure your trailer safely.

Once the trailer is positioned, the tow vehicle must be moved immediately to the designated vendor-parking area. Tow vehicles may not remain attached or parked behind the trailer unless NJPRFM staff has specifically approved it.

TRASH, GREASE & WASTEWATER

Each vendor is responsible for keeping its entire area clean throughout the event and after closing.

You must:

  • Securely bag all trash

  • Break down cardboard boxes

  • Use the designated disposal area

  • Remove any trash you are instructed to take with you

  • Properly contain grease, cooking oil, gray water, and wastewater

  • Leave your assigned area completely clean

Absolutely no grease, cooking oil, gray water, wastewater, food waste, or cleaning liquids may be dumped onto the pavement, into landscaping, in storm drains, in public trash cans, or anywhere else on the property.

Failure to clean your area may result in a $250 cleanup fee and may affect your acceptance into future NJPRFM events. Vendors may also be responsible for any additional cleaning, remediation, or venue charges resulting from spills or improper disposal.
