How to Become An Exhibitor, Tattoo or Piercing Artist at the Punk Rock Flea Market
True North Event Syndicate hosts several events per year including the New Jersey Punk Rock Flea Market and Darkside Art and Oddities Market. We host these events around the State of New Jersey including the NJ Expo Center in Edison, NJ as well as other venues.
Our events host 100’s of vendors from around the country (and Canada). Items being sold range from original art and all things vintage to independent clothing lines, vinyl, taxidermy and plenty of other unique collectibles and curio.

Exhibitor FAQ
I DON’T THINK MY WORK IS “PUNK.” CAN I STILL VEND?
Absolutely. You do not need to be punk, look punk, or sell punk-themed work. Our roots are in punk rock and DIY culture, but our events welcome independent artists, makers, creatives, and small businesses of all kinds. If you make or sell interesting stuff, we want to see it.
WHO CAN APPLY TO VEND AT A TRUE NORTH EVENT SYNDICATE EVENT?
Independent artists, makers, creatives, organizations, and small businesses are welcome to apply. We do not accept MLM, Direct Sales.
CAN I VEND BOTH DAYS?
Yep. If an event runs for two days and multi-day registration is available, you may register for both.
CAN I SELL FOOD?
Yes. Prepackaged food vendors may apply, but a health permit will be required. TNES will file or coordinate the permit when applicable. You are still responsible for meeting all health department requirements and should have any cottage-food licenses, commissary information, co-packing documentation, health reports, and other required paperwork available at the event.
DO I NEED TO BE REGISTERED TO COLLECT SALES TAX?
Technically, yes. Vendors are responsible for meeting all state and local business and sales-tax requirements where the event is held, including registration, collection, reporting, and payment of sales tax when required. TNES may also be required to provide vendor information to state or local tax agencies.
For New Jersey events, you can register here: www.njportal.com/DOR/BusinessRegistration. For events outside New Jersey, check the applicable state and local requirements before vending.
I’M A FOOD TRUCK. CAN I APPLY THROUGH THE REGULAR VENDOR FORM?
Nope. Food trucks are booked separately and hand-selected for each event. If you would like to be considered, visit www.punkmarket.com/foodtrucks.
DO YOU ALLOW AI-GENERATED ART?
We’ll make this as clear as we can: FUCK NO. Prompt-generated AI imagery is not permitted in merchandise, artwork, booth signage, banners, or promotional graphics used to market your appearance at a TNES event. We support human artists. Robots can get fucked.
CAN I SELL 3D-PRINTED ITEMS?
Yes, but we strongly prefer original designs created by you. Booths consisting mostly of mass-distributed files, widely available templates, or the same designs being sold everywhere may not be accepted.
CAN I SELL ITEMS I BOUGHT FROM TEMU, ALIBABA, ALIEXPRESS, OR SHEIN?
NOPE. We do not allow stolen artwork, counterfeit merchandise, unauthorized reproductions, or mass-produced products being passed off as original work.
CAN I SHARE MY TABLE OR BOOTH WITH ANOTHER VENDOR?
No. Every vendor must apply and be approved separately. You may request to be placed next to another approved vendor, and we’ll do our best to make it happen. If you would like to share a space, please reach out to us directly.
CAN I TRANSFER MY SPACE TO SOMEONE ELSE?
Possibly. Vendor-to-vendor transfers must be requested at least 14 days before the event, and the replacement vendor must be approved by TNES before taking over the space. Please do not sell or transfer your spot privately.
WHAT IF I CAN’T MAKE THE EVENT?
Requests to move your vending fees to a future TNES event must be made at least 30 days before the event. Approved credits may be used toward another TNES event within one year of the original event date. Requests made less than 14 days before the event are not eligible for refunds, transfers, or credits.
CAN I LEAVE EARLY IF I SELL OUT OR IT’S SLOW?
No. Vendors are expected to remain set up until the official vendor closing time. If you have an actual emergency, talk to TNES staff before breaking down and we’ll help get you out safely.
CAN I BRING A TENT OR CANOPY?
Generally, no canopy tops indoors. Some venues may allow an empty frame, but all setups must follow venue and Fire Marshal rules.
CAN I BURN CANDLES OR INCENSE AT MY BOOTH?
Nope. You can sell them. You just can’t light them. Patchouli has entered the chat, and the Fire Marshal would like a word.
CAN I USE ELECTRICITY AT MY SPACE?
Yes, when available, but electrical service must be purchased or arranged through the approved event or venue process. Vendors may not overload circuits, daisy-chain power strips, or plug into someone else’s service.
DO I NEED INSURANCE?
We strongly recommend it, and some vendor categories or venues may require it. TNES is not responsible for lost, stolen, damaged, or broken merchandise, displays, equipment, or personal property. We suggest checking out www.eventhelper.com or www.actinsurance.com
CAN I CREATE MY OWN FACEBOOK EVENT FOR THE SHOW?
Please don’t. Use the official TNES event listing if one is created. Multiple event pages split the audience and usually result in somebody posting the wrong time, wrong address, or some other nonsense we then have to chase down.
WHERE DO I FIND LOAD-IN DETAILS, FLOOR PLANS, MARKETING GRAPHICS, AND EVENT INFO?
Registered vendors will receive access to the TNES Vendor Hub, where we post event graphics, load-in details, floor plans, parking information, permits, day-of contacts, and other important event information.
HOW WILL I BE CONTACTED?
Mostly by email, so please make sure you type your email address correctly when applying and registering. Important vendor information is also posted in the Vendor Hub. Personal social media messages are not an official vendor communication channel.
CAN I REQUEST A SPECIFIC LOCATION?
You can ask. We’ll always consider placement requests, including requests to be near or away from another vendor, but specific locations are never guaranteed.
DO YOU GUARANTEE ATTENDANCE OR SALES?
No. We work very hard to market and produce our events, but attendance, sales, traffic, and profit can never be guaranteed. Every event, customer, and vendor is different.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I BREAK ONE OF THE VENDOR RULES?
Depends on the rule. Minor issues can often be fixed on the spot. Serious violations involving safety, prohibited merchandise, stolen or counterfeit goods, harassment, or refusal to follow TNES, venue, security, health department, or Fire Marshal instructions may result in removal from the event, forfeiture of fees, and/or being banned from future TNES events.
